We had great weather and hot fishing! Our clients from Florida were blown away with the liveliness of the water, the scenery, our boat, and the number of fish around! Between the first two days of fishing we took home 7 dolphin and released many more. we had sail fish, marlin, & rooster fish pulling drag too, unfortunately they had the upper hand and got away. We caught caravelle jacks, Bonita, and grouper near shore. While We were off shore we came across a floating log covered up in mahi mahi. We caught a few then saw a free jumping blue marlin chasing dolphin, we quickly changed gears to target marlin. A few passes by the log and here he comes, we all saw that dorsal tracking down our shut gun lure and BOOM! The drag started screaming, an hour into the fight he came off the hook….Would have been awesome to land our first marlin of the season with these guys!
